Hello Neighbour,
We are exploring the possibility of establishing a community garden in the green space beside the Allard ice rink (please find attached map). Before moving forward, we would like to consult with nearby residents to gather any feedback, concerns, or suggestions.
The vision is to create a shared space for growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, and building community connections. The garden would be maintained by volunteers. Some potential benefits of the garden include:
Promoting healthy lifestyles and access to fresh produce
Encouraging environmental stewardship and urban biodiversity
Providing educational opportunities for local schools
Creating a welcoming and inclusive space for residents of all ages
The proposed garden site was selected based on the reasons summarized below:
Access to water
Access to City of Edmonton funding
Relatively flat topography and conducive to gardening
If you have any questions, concerns, or input regarding this initiative, please let us know by June 23, 2025.
All feedback can be emailed to: Info@allardcommunityleague.ca.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Friends — it’s time to ride! 💪🌞

🏆 Let’s ride together and show what our neighbourhood can do!
The Classic Challenge
Whichever League rides the furthest, wins!
The Go the Distance Challenge
This one is for our weekend warriors, committed commuters and River Valley ramblers! To give the Leagues with smaller but still committed groups (like us) a chance, this year, we’ll be tracking each League’s kilometers ridden per rider. So whether you’ve got 300 people or just 30, you still have an opportunity to put the mettle to your pedal and score a great prize.
The Bike Scavenger Hunt - https://efcl.org/bike-month-scavenger-hunt/
Bike Month is all about getting out on your bike. Community Leagues are all about creating connections, both in your neighbourhood and across the city. We’ve brought them both together for our first-ever Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues Bike Month Scavenger Hunt.
The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues have selected 60 locations around the city, ranging from Community League amenities to City of Edmonton landmarks, neighbourhood gems to some incredible local businesses who’ve promised to reward our intrepid hunters. And all you have to do to take part is ride your bike and have a Community League membership.
Here’s how it works.
Visit one of the designated locations on your bike. See our map or the information below for the complete list.
Snap a picture of you/your bike at the location of your choice.
Tag us on Instagram (@theefcl) with hashtag #efclbikemonth or email your pictures to communications@efcl.org
If you’re at one of our business partners, show them your Community League membership and enjoy a special reward.
Repeat! The person who visits the most locations wins a $200 gift card courtesy of United Sport & Cycle*!
Sound good? Then hop on your bike, and we’ll see you around town! (*Please note: in the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by a random draw of the submissions with the most entries.)
Each day of the week, you will get active and experience a variety of crafts, games, sports, and free play! This program is targeted for children aged 6-12, but all children accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend.
